South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA)

The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) is a voluntary association not for gain registered in terms of the Non-Profit Organisations Act, 71 of 1997.  Established in March 1980, SAICA has become the most prominent accountancy body in South Africa and is regarded as one of the leading institutes in the world, maintaining the local and worldwide recognition of the premier value of the CA(SA) designation.  SAICA serves in excess of 24,000 Chartered Accountants (SA) and provides a wide range of support services to its members performing a key role in a highly dynamic business sector and a transforming economy.  The use of the Chartered Accountant (SA), ie the CA(SA) designation is exclusive to members of SAICA.

The mission of SAICA is to serve the interests of the chartered accountancy profession and society by upholding professional standards and integrity, and the pre-eminence of
South African CAs(SA) nationally and internationally.
